Frequently Asked Questions
What do "image code" and "image ID" mean? Are they the same thing?
The image code is a 10-character code starting with “TF” that you purchase from a Passipiste partner store. You use this code at our photo booth when taking the picture and when downloading the image for your own use from our website.
The image ID is a 7-character identifier sent by the police or Migri’s permit administration image server; you use it to attach your passport photo to an application, such as a passport application.
How do I know if my photo has been accepted or rejected? When will I receive the photo ID?
We will review the photo by 3 p.m. on the next business day.
You will receive the photo ID for an approved photo via email and text message—provided you supplied your phone number when the photo was taken—from the police system’s automated messaging service.
If we reject your photo, we will send you an email.
If you took the photo over the weekend, you will receive the photo ID or notification of rejection during the day on Monday.
What should I do if I haven't received the photo ID?
Have you taken the image review timeframe into account? You will receive your image code—or a notification that your photo has been rejected—by 3:00 PM on the business day following the photo session.
If the review period has passed:
Check your email spam folder: you should find either an email with the subject line “Kuittaus” (Confirmation) containing your image code, or a rejection message from passikuva@tailorframe.com if your photo did not meet passport photo requirements.
Ensure your email account can receive messages: sometimes an inbox is too full to accept new emails.
If you provided your phone number when the photo was taken, check your text messages.
If you cannot locate the image code or our rejection message using the instructions above, please contact us at passikuva@tailorframe.com or by calling 040 772 1907 on weekdays between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
My photo was rejected. What should I do?
If your photo was rejected, you can take a new one for free using the same 10-character code you used for the original photo. Follow the device’s instructions carefully when taking the new photo. You can take the new photo at any Passipiste location; you can find the locations on this website.
How do I know which police or Migri photo ID belongs to whom?
If you have used the same email address for photos of multiple people:
- On the police website: once you enter the photo code into the application, the photo appears, and you can see who the code belongs to. If the photo is incorrect, you can change the photo code.
- On the Migri website, you cannot see which photo code belongs to whom. Please email the photo codes to us at passikuva@tailorframe.com.
Can I use the photo for a visa or a passport from another country?
Our photo meets Finnish official requirements and is not necessarily suitable for passports or visas of other countries.
